Last week I took my 92-year old Mom on a trip through the Provo Canyon, Utah. Although it is already November there were still some fall colors and it looked absolutely beautiful with the snow covered mountains in the background.
We went over the dam and down to Dear Creek, got out of the car and took a little walk. The air was fresh and it felt unbelievably rejuvenating to the skin.
We then went all the way to Heber City and back to Dear Creek to have a nice picnic. The sun was shining all the time and it was absolutely gorgeous.
When we got home my Mom and I felt totally rejuvenated and full of energy. Our skin was glowing and we felt so refreshed and at least twenty years younger.
We decided on this day, which also was my Birthday, to get out there for a walk far away from polluted air and rejuvenate our skin at least twice a week.
We have a nearby little river with a river walk. It is very beautiful and great to walk along the river and feel the fresh, wonderful air on the skin.
I personally do this on a daily basis each morning. I totally enjoy this walk in the park. It gets me going for the rest of the day and I feel absolutely great all day.
We often underestimate the importance of fresh air when it comes to the health of our skin. Researchers found that by comparing the skin of athletes to the skin of people who hardly get out there to at least take a walk, the athletes’ skin is denser, thicker, and stronger.
Just taking a walk, your cardiovascular system rushes freshly oxygenated blood to the surface of your skin and feeds your muscles. This same high oxygen level pumps up your skin and makes it larger and thicker. Thus, the increased blood flow to the skin gives nutrients, and carries away toxins.
Through the internally produced heat during a walk, it will help boost collagen production which will improve your skins elasticity. That again will diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
Did you realize that your skin is ‘breathing? Externally, oxygen is absorbed through cellular ‘breathing’. Oxygen is absolutely needed for the survival of your cells. Without enough oxygen your skin will look dull and aged.
Therefore, get outside for a walk as often as you possibly can. Preferably on a daily basis and away from car exhaust, where your skin can breathe in some fresh air. This will make your skin youthful and healthy looking.
All that’s needed is a ‘fresh breeze’ for your skin to make you look years younger. Get out there and catch the fresh oxygen for your skin to look beautiful!
